Promotion, Tourism and Destination Marketing

We promote Fairport and Perinton as a destination to regional, national, and international audiences. We host travel writer and tour operator familiarization tours; create and place ads in the Visit Rochester, Finger Lakes, and Upstate travel and tourism guides; manage social media pages with 15,000+ followers; provide 500 visitor and new resident welcome bags annually; operate a visitor information center and kiosk in Box Factory.

Bushnell’s Basin - We created a logo and tag line “Perfectly Perinton”, Facebook page, and print advertising defining and promoting the Basin as a destination to visitors and residents alike.

Event Marketing – We produce the annual Fairport Oktoberfest celebration; provide advertising, public relations, and marketing support for Fairport Canal Days, Scarecrow Festival, and Come Home for the Holidays. We also provide in-kind support to Fairport Music and Food Festival and other community-benefit events.

“Fullam’s Corners” - We re-branded the Jefferson/O’Connor Road/31F business district via naming and logo design based upon the historic place name of the area.

Tourism and destination marketing is a big part of our mission and one reason why nearly 3,000 boat nights (slip rentals) are recorded each six-month navigation season, in Fairport alone.

Despite its misleading zip code, the “Basin” is most definitely in the Town of Perinton - and perfectly so. Hence our logo and tag line to reinforce that fact.

Historical canal basin and trolley stop facts and present-day development come together in the name and logo we created and assigned the business district formed by the newly aligned intersection of Fairport/Jefferson/O’Connor Roads.

In 2006 we installed this tourism kiosk as Eastview Mall. From it, thousands of flyers and brochures promoting Fairport festivals, events, and destinations were distributed to shoppers. This marketing program was supported by a member-item grant from then-Senator Alesi and Wilmorite Corporation.

When the liftbridge went up for repairs in the summer of 2006, we put our foot down for fun! Our six-week campaign of promotions, concerts and movies on Main Street, a pub crawl, and more, kept feet on the street and in shops, stores, and restaurants despite automobile traffic being disrupted. In fact, merchants reported that sales were up year-over-last for the same time period.
