Two of the hundreds of Canal Days attendees who took advantage of the water in kayaks rented from the Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport.

Some of the 20,000 concertgoers chose to view the performance
from the placid waters of the
Artist Waugh and Fairport Canal Days co-chairperson, Jan Dwyer, pose before Waugh’s completed work, Symphony on the Erie, begun and finished before the live audience during the 90-minute performance of Symphony on the Erie.
